Welcome to Our School

Our school is located at SITINAMALUWA, BELLIATTA. Our school education level is National. It is in Hambantota district under Southern province. Its education zone is Tangalle under Beliatta Education division. It offers classes from G6-13. The total number of students in this school is 2483, with 1399 male and 1084 female students.

Our School History

Old School Photo

Ruhunu Vijayaba College was established according to the concept of honorable minister Mahinda Rajapaksha. The foundation stone was laid on 5th February 2005. This project was launched by Plan Sri Lanka Organization. The school was handed over to the government with the participation of First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksha. The opening ceremony included Southern Province member Mr. K.A. Somawansha.

Initially, the school had only grades 1,2,3 with 21 teachers. Students were later admitted up to grade 6 and A/L. Mr J.K. Gunathilaka was the first headmaster. By 2001, there were 3500 students due to his efforts. He retired on 16th June 2001.
